About Dr. DiBlasio //

Dr. Christopher DiBlasio, M.D. is board-certified in urology/urologic surgery located in Fort Myers, Florida. Born and raised in Long Island, New York, Dr. DiBlasio strives to provide compassionate and contemporary urologic care to the Southwest Florida community and west coast of Florida. He is dual licensed in New York, and offers telemedicine consultations to patients residing in New York. He specializes in minimally-invasive surgery, prostate laser surgery including HOLEP, and prostate and kidney cryoablation. Further, he has extensive experience in female prolapse and incontinence repair, stone surgery, urologic cancer treatment, cosmetics and reconstruction, trauma, HIFU, Urolift, and transperineal MRI fusion prostate biopsy. In 2012, he was appointed the Chief of Urology at Huntington Hospital of the Northwell health system (formerly North Shore-LIJ). He resigned this position in January 2017, assuming the role of Associate Medical Director of the Mount Sinai Doctors of Long Island consortium of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He resigned from Mount Sinai to join the Pro Healthcare team in July 2019.

"Dr. Chris" completed his internship (general surgery/trauma) and residency training in urology at the University of Tennessee, as well as a research fellowship in urologic oncology at New York's renowned Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Dr. DiBlasio serves as the only center of excellence for holmium-laser based prostate surgery (HOLAP/HOLEP: holmium laser ablation/enucleation of the prostate) in Florida. He serves as a proctor and preceptor for HOLAP/HOLEP, as well as for prostate and kidney cryosurgery. He is a designated regional training center for kidney and prostate cryosurgery.

Dr. DiBlasio has served as a board member for the COLD registry, a panel of thought-leaders in the field of cryosurgery. He has served on numerous committees, advisory boards, and Boards of Directors. 

Dr. DiBlasio has held leadership positions at Mount Sinai and Optum Prohealth as well as faculty positions at the Icahn School of Medicine, University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center, Hofstra North Shore-LIJ School of Medicine, and NYU Langone. Dr DiBlasio relocated to southwest Florida to assume a clinical and leadership role For Genesis Care, a world-wide leader in cancer care.

With a wide breadth of expertise in the medical and surgical treatment of urologic conditions, my practice embodies treatment of men and women, ranging in age from pediatrics to geriatrics. My goal is to provide comprehensive, contemporary and compassionate urologic care in the setting of a friendly and professional environment. As part of an integrated health care group, I am able to provide in-depth testing and diagnostic and curative treatments in the office setting. My office staff and I aim to provide the best service possible to make your patient experience as comfortable as possible. I offer a broad range of surgical proficiencies ranging from open surgical techniques to minimally-invasive endoscopy, laparoscopic surgery, and robotic-assisted surgery for benign and cancerous urological conditions.
